After many a vegetarian reviews over the last few weeks, I was craving the comfort of some hearty non vegetarian fare. And so we landed at Bheema’s to savour a spicy Andhra bhojanam of fish fry, chilli chicken, mutton pepper fry, Guntur chicken, and a couple of biryanis, their staple Nellore version in addition to their ode to Bengaluru’s dhonne style biryani! And needless to say, we also took a quick look behind the scenes to see how this popular restaurant is gearing up to serve customers in these challenging times. Enjoy and stay safe.

Fish Fry
A tasty fry, though not the sort that will blow your socks off! It’s a thin slice of fish, napped in a sprightly masala and fried crisp around the edges.
Rs. 370 (usd 4.9)
7/10

Chilli Chicken
No Andhra non-vegetarian meal can be complete without a chilli chicken, rich in copious amounts of green chilli and pepper. The spice hit is tongue-numbing, but one that’s vicariously addictive. The chicken is nice and juicy all the way down to the bone.
Rs. 270 (usd 3.6)
8/10

Mutton Pepper Fry
The mutton is soft and yields to a gentle bite, draped in a pepper-onion masala. The meat is sheathed in some fat, which lends it its fulsome flavour. At Bheema’s they pick their meat cuts well and certainly know how to cook it well too.
Rs. 350 (usd 4.6)
9/10

Guntur Chicken
A chicken preparation that heroes the Guntur chilli. The creaminess of the coconut though and the acidity of tomatoes in this dish balances against the heat of this otherwise spicy Andhra chilli.
Rs. 305 (usd 4)
8/10

Mutton Jeera Rice Biryani
Bheema’s ode to the local Bengaluru biryani, this one is made with the short-grained seeraga samba rice. You can taste the fervour of coriander, mint and green chillies alongside other ingredients like the marat moggu, cloves that are typically used in this one-pot rice and meat preparation. The meat slides off the bone, it is cooked as well as that!
Rs. 295 (usd 3.9)
8/10

Chicken Biryani
Bheema’s most popular dish, this traditional Nellore-style biryani is made with basmati rice. There’s flecks of pineapple that go into this biryani and you taste its acidity juxtaposed against the aromatic flavours of cloves, cinnamon and other warming spices that the chicken and rice are cooked in. The meat is soft and juicy, however it is the delicate spicing of the biryani that makes an impression on the palate and lingers long after one has finished eating.
Rs. 260 (usd 3.4)
9/10

      yes,
” … look at the happy sheen on the plate. Copious amounts of stainless steel are poured with a masterclass perfection combined with a professional polishing. The tartness of the dishwash cleaner is filling the air. Whenever you see your own face in the plate, it means that the cleaner is a professional of top notch range. That makes a hotel attract scores of dedicated patrons. when you see a happy person looking into his plate, it is a sign for the popularity of the restaurant…….”
      I am done…

@Vidisha Roy I think you hate cooking because, you fail, even I fail every time even today I burnt the kitchen ?, my mom’s angry, but she’s OK, start out small recipes, grow your secret ingredient, it’s far more better than watching Netflix trust me, I was addicted to Netflix and pubg, when I learnt cooking, each and every step of it, the process it takes I’m enjoying it! ??So let’s go!, ❤️?peace

@Vidisha Roy doesn’t matter, just easy to make! I love trying dishes from other states, lockdown is the best time to try your skills, so what’s stopping you? ?
